United High School’s Students of the Month for October are Senior, Bridgette; Junior, Mae; Sophomore, Landon and Freshman, Emma. Bridgette was nominated by art teacher Mrs. Burgess in recognition of her growth and willingness to expand her skills. Mrs. Burgess says that Bridgette represents the UHS Core Value of “Commitment,” as she is focused, driven and always seeking feedback to improve. Mae was nominated by history teacher Mr. Molek due to her exemplification of the UHS Core Value “Commitment." Mae is a dedicated and hardworking student. Landon was nominated by science teacher Mrs. Menge, because he has a great work ethic and positive attitude. The UHS Core Values that Landon best represents are “Commitment and Integrity” due to his willingness to work well with others and his curious mind. Emma was nominated by band teacher, Ms. Wood, in recognition of her commitment to improving her skills as a musician. Emma represents the "Commitment and Integrity" Core Values for UHS because of her growth and willingness to put in extra time to improve and be her best. Congratulations to these students! Each student will receive a gift certificate good for 1 drink at Dame Fine Coffee! Thank you Dame Fine for sponsoring this program!

Reminder! UHS would like to offer a complimentary lunch to any Veteran this Friday in honor of Veterans Day. Please call the high school office at 309-734-9411 to signup. Lunch will be served as "grab and go" and will be chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, peas & a dinner roll.

Every fall the high school counselors organize a Wellness day for the high school students and invite in guest speakers and presenters. This year we are doing a t-shirt fundraiser along with it to give us some kind of budget to improve this day for our students. We appreciate your support!

The B.O.O.S.T. Program will be hosting a Halloween theme Family Craft Night, Wednesday, October 25. We will be making a Pumpkin Floral Center Piece. RSVP Mr. Dennison or Mrs. Wascher to reserve your spot.

This is just a reminder that our UHS BOOST Program will be hosting a family fishing day on Sunday from 2-4 at McIntosh's pond. All UHS students, families, and staff are invited. We hope to see you there!
United High School’s Students of the Month for September are Senior, Maeson; Junior, Leighton; Sophomore, Jay and Freshman, Katie. Maeson was nominated by Mr. Coleman in recognition of his hard work. Mr. Coleman says that Maeson represents the UHS Core Value of “Commitment” as he has had a positive approach to school so far this school year. Leighton was nominated by English teacher, Mr. Klimkewicz, due to her exemplification of the UHS Core Values of “Family, Pride and Commitment." Leighton is a student who has a great attitude, is helpful with her peers and stays on top of her work when she missed school for golf. Jay was nominated by Mr. Ross for having a caring and positive attitude and being an energetic force in class and in the hallways. The UHS Core Values that Jay best represents are “Family, Commitment and Pride.” Katie was nominated by Ms. Hermosillo in recognition of her positive presence in English class and always being prepared and helpful.
