Thank you students and staff for attending, supporting, and participating in our 4th Annual United Junior Senior High School Poetry Contest. We had 14 awesome participants. The 3rd place winner was junior Kaylee Teel. There was a tie for first place with both Rose Leary and Elizabeth Hinton delivering equally strong performances of their poems. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the scheduled junior high wrestling meet for this evening vs. A-Town and Geneseo has been postponed. All other events scheduled for this evening at UJSHS are still a go. Please see the UJSHS event calendar for more details.

Coach Grant was selected as the Illinois State Coach of the Year in Girls Golf by the National Federation of State High School Associations. United Junior High's annual Scripps Spelling Bee took place yesterday. 18 students competed for the title of School Spelling Bee Champion. After many competitive rounds, we do have a champion. Congratulations Jace!
UPDATED: United High School Holiday Tournament Boys & Girls Basketball Schedules
Due to the pending weather that is forecasted for tomorrow, Saturday, December 13th, all events scheduled to take place have been cancelled at this time. The United High School Athletic Department will soon release an amended schedule of games to be played for the United Holiday Basketball Tournament starting next Monday.
As road conditions improve through the day, we look forward to seeing as many people as possible tonight at 7:00PM for our HS Music Concert at the Orpheum in Galesburg that will still take place as originally scheduled. The band room will be open this afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00, for students to pick up their instrument and music.
Athletes that would have practice this afternoon would have been contacted by their coach detailing what time the practice will be.

For Monday, December 1st: All afternoon practices at UJSHS have been cancelled. All scheduled events, both JH and HS, have been postponed. We will provide an update on when these will be rescheduled once we finalize that information.
