United High School’s Students of the Month for December/January are Senior, Rachel; Junior, Jake; Sophomore, DeAngelo; and Freshman, Tate. Rachel was nominated by Ms. Wood in recognition of her incredible leadership skills. Ms. Wood says that Rachel represents the UHS Core Values of “Integrity and Family” because she always ensures equipment returns to the band room and is a mentor to so many students. Jake was nominated by Mrs. Burgess due to his display of the UHS Core Value of “Commitment." Mrs. Burgess says that Jake is a dedicated student who has grown leaps and bounds in his willingness to try new things. DeAngelo was nominated by Mrs. Carter for being incredibly polite, respectful and helpful. Because of these attributes and the fact that he has a contagious, upbeat personality, he personifies the UHS Core Values of “Family, Commitment, Integrity, and Empathy”. Tate was nominated by Mrs. Anderson in recognition of his kindness and respectfulness. Tate represents the "Commitment" Core Value for UHS because of his positive attitude and inspiring ways of saying goodbye when he leaves her classroom. Congratulations to these students! Each student will receive a gift certificate good for 1 drink at Dame Fine Coffee! Thank you Dame Fine Coffee for sponsoring this program!

Correction to the last message: The boys basketball game for this evening, Jan. 23rd, will be played as scheduled.
The home girls basketball game for this evening, Jan. 23rd, will be played as scheduled.
For clarity sake. No school at United Tuesday 1-23-24
The rain is making some things better and some things worse. That said, there are still many tough spots on our routes out there. Hoping today is the last
All UHS evening athletics/activities for Jan. 22nd have been postponed. We will work to reschedule these events.
Roads are extremely slick this morning. Therefore, there will be no school at United 304 on Monday January 22, 2024. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The home boys basketball game and the wrestling meet at Orion are on for tonight as scheduled. The UHS FFA will be hosting a care drive this evening; bring any hygiene item and get in for free to tonight's basketball game.
Dues to severe wind chills and some drifting of mostly country roads, the United School District will not be in session today. We will make determinations on evening activities later in the day. Thank you.

This is a different kind of message than normal. In this message, I'm announcing that the United School District intends to have school tomorrow Wednesday January 17th, 2024. (we will check in the am however to make sure things haven't worsened) Tomorrow's temperatures return to a better level, but we also know that there are a number of rural roads that present safety concerns for all travelers, but particularly our buses. The stacked snow will prevent buses from turn arounds that they normally make and some roads just are unable to be improved at this point in time. That said, we will have school tomorrow but our buses will not be able to get everywhere that they normally do. Those of you in remote areas please be patient. We know this isn't ideal and hopefully we'll soon be back to our normal transportation processes. If you are able, please let us know if you make other arrangements for your students.
If you simply can't get to a good location and can't get your students to us at the school, please contact your attendance center so that they can account for this absence appropriately.
Huge thanks to those snowplow drivers and highway workers working to get us back on track. Thank you all for your patience as we work to make the best of this situation.
Conditions are still such that there will be no school in the United School District on Tuesday January 16, 2024.

Future Red Storm Cheer Camp for tomorrow, Monday, January 15th is being RESCHEDULED due to the predicted windchill and many of the roads in the county still hazardous. Camp will now be held on Saturday, Feb 10th. You can still sign up until Jan 26 if needed.

The boys basketball game scheduled for tonight at UHS vs ATown has been rescheduled for February 12th. Stay safe!
Due to weather conditions, there will be no school at United 304 today Friday January 12,2024. Be safe out there!
