Please note - Apparently there is a lady driving around the district trying to sell books identifying as an intern for United. She is NOT affiliated with the school district. Buyer beware! #BeUnited

United High School’s Students of the Month for April are Senior, Kayelee; Junior, Brodi; Sophomore, Taylor; and Freshman, Bryce. Kayelee was nominated by Ms. Wood for diligently practicing her instrument and having the courage to perform a solo (beautifully) in front of a large crowd. She says that Kayelee represents the UHS Core Values of “Pride & Commitment'' because she brings the best version of herself to school every day. Brodi was nominated by Mrs. Anderson due to her display of the UHS Core Values of “Commitment & Empathy." Mrs. Anderson says that Brodi is a hard worker and always wants to know the why instead of just the answer, which is important in math; helps others who may be struggling; and is a joy to have in class. Taylor was nominated by Mr. Ross because she is a committed and bright student. She is consistently a positive (yet quiet) force in the classroom. Because of these attributes and the fact that she does her very best every day, Taylor personifies the UHS Core Values of “Pride, Integrity, & Commitment''. Bryce was nominated by Ms. Hermosillo because he has consistently shown a great work ethic in class, and he goes out of his way to show kindness and empathy toward those around him. Bryce represents the "Empathy & Integrity" Core Values for UHS! Congratulations to these students! Each student will receive a gift certificate good for 1 drink at Dame Fine Coffee! Thank you Dame Fine Coffee for sponsoring this program!

All United schools will dismiss early due to the chance of severe weather during typical transportation times. Shuttles will leave buildings at 12:45 and routes will run as close to 1 PM as possible. Thank you for your patience.

Today the United Small Business class competed against 20 other teams in a business simulation, put on by Junior Achievement. Three teams represented United today: Carson Horner and Colton Gosney; Mason Giddings, Ty Lafferty, and Tanner Rogers and Tony Rodriguez, Chris Rodriguez, and Derrick Sargeant. The top two teams out of 20 advance to the scholarship round. Carson and Colton placed 2nd in the practice round and then tied for 2nd in the qualifying round, but lost the tie breaker to move on. Most of the teams we competed against have been doing this competition for 20+ years. This was United’s first year and to say we are proud is an understatement!! All eight boys should be really proud!! #BeUnited
