It's Homecoming Friday! This afternoon at 4:30 will be our homecoming parade on the campus of UJSHS. The parade route will go in front of the building on the bus ramp and proceed to the east parking lot. Immediately following the parade will be the pre-game tailgate that will include: face painting, cowbell decorating, glow station along with Ferris and Junes Shaved Ice selling treats from 4PM until game time. These events are open to the public. Don't forget to stick around for this evening's football game with kickoff at 7PM vs. Princeville.
Former West Virginia University All-American and NFL player Steve Grant visited UJSHS today to speak both to the junior high and high school students about setting goals, maintaining healthy relationships and being selfless amongst other motivational messages. A big thanks to SportsWorld.org for providing this opportunity for United students to hear Mr. Grant's message on making positive choices.

United Jr.-Sr High School had 20 FFA members compete at the Section 4 Forestry contest yesterday in Knoxville. Results are in and we have 2 First place teams: both Varsity and Middle School teams! Top 10 members for middle school are Natali P. 1st, Rhylen T 2nd, Chelsey T. 4th, Gage L. 5th, Bryce M. 7th, and Charleigh M. 9th. Top 10 Varsity include Hannah T. 2nd, Leighton T. 4th, and Lily F. 6th. Great way to start the CDE season team!

Instructions for United fans attending this Friday's football game in Rushville, IL: Please DO NOT enter the football field area through the entrance marked "Emergency Vehicle Entrance Only". This entrance is for team vehicles, emergency crews, and athletic booster concession workers only. Handicap spectators can enter through Lipcoman’s Service Center which is north of the football field off of Rt 24. Handicap spectators will turn at the Kent Feed sign (west side of Rt. 24) and follow the gravel path to the grass lot in which they can park. Please enter this area off of Rt. 24 ONLY. Non-handicap spectators need to park outside of the fenced area and enter through one of the gates.
There is a paved parking lot next to the school and a gravel lot west of the field in which you
can park. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for seniors and students. If you have a conference pass please show it to our ticket people. They will be located
at the handicap entrance, south gate, and west gate. Thank you.
Congratulations to the United CUSD 304 Instrumental Music Department under the direction of Ms. Madeline Wood for being the recipient of a $10,000 grant on behalf of the Looser-Flake Charitable Foundation. This grant was awarded to advance economic development and further cultural and educational opportunities in Mercer County, Illinois. The Creative Arts Grant will specifically be used to commission a piece by composer Tim Corpus along with purchasing new drum line equipment.
It was a great day for United High School Golf! The girls defeated Illini Bluffs 179 to 230 with Meredith Yung taking medalist honors with an even par 36. The boys dominated The United Open at Gibson Woods scoring 317 and taking the top four individual spots on the day. Aiden Martin was the event's medalist with a 75, Ian Leffler shot a 76, followed by Lucas Horner in 3rd and Lance Baker in 4th.

We are continuing to navigate the transition from Skyward to Teacher Ease. As we are doing so, please make note that the meal accounts are not up and running yet. It is still a work in progress. While we are waiting for everything to transfer, we have been keeping track manually of student meals. Once the system is up and running, we will scan meals that students have consumed up until that point. Thank you for being patient and understanding while we work through this transition.

High School Volleyball for tomorrow, Wednesday, August 28th, has been postponed at this time. The makeup date will be September 19th.
High School Athletics Practice Schedule for Tuesday, August 27th:
6am to 7:30am - Varsity football
After school until 5:30pm - Volleyball, JV football, Cross Country and Cheerleading all indoors
No practice for Golf
