Mission accomplished! Many thanks to those who made the day amazing. Thank you to Mrs. Hulsizer's team of students who coordinated and launched the Lost in Space escape room for the whole. Thank you to Mrs. Feltmeyer for all the research, artwork, and learning about space. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped decorate and supervise our day. Thank you to the UIS PTO for the bounce houses, snacks, and support. It takes a special community to make this happen.

Thank you to the Warren County History Museum for accommodating our 5th and 6th grade students. Learning about local history is inspiring.

Mrs. Oaks sparked creativity during her 4th grade art presentator lesson.

Our 5th and 6th grade students will be visiting the Warren County History Museum on April 15th during their geography and science class period. Students will learn about the history of the museum, explore the current displays and learn about the history of our local county. What a great opportunity to connect with our local community!
Get ready, UIS families—we’re celebrating the end of testing in a BIG way!
We’re kicking things off with a fun-filled Spirit Week to build excitement and energy leading up to Friday, April 17th for an all day spaced themed celebration. Our students have worked incredibly hard, and we’re ready to celebrate their efforts with a day packed full of engaging activities!
Each grade level will enjoy a full day of fun, including exciting relays, interactive challenges, and time to celebrate being done with testing. The highlight of the day will be our all-school escape room designed and created by some of our very own talented 5th graders! In the afternoon, students will enjoy a bounce house extravaganza and snacks galore sponsored by our amazing PTO.
There will be three opportunities throughout the day for families to join in and observe the fun. Below, you’ll find the schedule for when your student will be participating in the escape room, relays, and bounce house fun. Parents are welcome to join us during these times to observe and share in the excitement!
Please note: Due to overlapping lunch schedules, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate additional visitors during lunch periods.
We can’t wait to celebrate with our students and make it a day to remember!

May 8th at 1:45 p.m. & May 11th at 9:30 a.m.

Please remember that any students arriving to school prior to 8:00 a.m. must be dropped off at the north end of the building. We have observed vehicles entering the bus lane during arrival times, which creates an unsafe environment for unloading students. Ensuring the safety of all students is our top priority. Thank you for your attention and cooperation.

How do you engage 6th graders in math? Dr. Carson made graphing interactive and life-sized.

Miss Hale had a slam dunk idea when she created a March Madness picture book bracket. The students were exposed to quality literature, inspiring authors, and creative illustrators. The best part may have been the surprise guest readers for the final showdown. Thank you Mrs. Wallace and Mr. Coate for being a part of the UIS fun.

Mrs. Oehlert took learning new heights with a scavenger hunt practicing their skills.
