This is a reminder to UJSHS families regarding our pre-arranged absence policy (Student Handbook pages 6-7). Pre-arranged absences must be approved by the building principal at least 5 school days prior to leaving. Parents must provide a written request or contact their student's building office by phone. Once the absence is approved, students will receive a pre-arranged absence form to complete and return to the office before leaving for the missed day(s). We realize that there are instances where giving prior notice is not possible. We simply ask for the courtesy of letting the school know in instances where a student knows they will be absent from school on specific future date(s). Thank you.

The United High School Scholastic Bowl team had a strong showing at the LTC tournament this past weekend. We went 3-2 on Saturday with victories over Cambridge (270-80), Princeville (120-80), and AlWood (195-155). We lost very close matches to conference champion ROWVA (230-250) and pool runner-up Annawan (175-185) in quadruple overtime!
Reiley B. placed 5th on the conference toss-up leaderboard with 18 toss-ups correctly answered. Other toss-up leaders for UHS were Luke S. (7), Katie D. (5), and Greydon B. (4). Great job players! Our season continues with a regional match against Galva on Monday March 9th at 4:30.

A big thanks to Aaron Wayne of WRMJ for presenting the award to Mrs. Pedigo and Scooter's Coffee for sponsoring it. Congratulations again to Mrs. Pedigo for her well-deserved recognition!
