A heartfelt thank-you to Bridgeway's Youth Empowerment Services (YES) for generously sponsoring our guest speaker and providing snacks for our students. Your support made a meaningful difference in creating a positive and engaging experience.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Curt Livesay for taking the time to speak to our students and share valuable insights. Your message truly resonated and helped make the day memorable.

We would also like to thank our teachers and staff for all their help in hosting and facilitating sessions throughout the day. Your dedication, teamwork, and enthusiasm made everything run smoothly and ensured a positive experience for our students.

Thank you all for contributing to such an impactful event!

United High School is pleased to announce that we have four 2026-27 Illinois State Scholars: Elizabeth, Delaney, Kendall and Ava. Approximately the top ten percent of graduates from approved high schools are announced as State Scholars each year through Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC). The 2026-27 year designation given to State Scholars applies to the year students will begin their postsecondary education. The combination of their exemplary college assessment examination scores and record of high school achievement indicates they have high potential for success in college. While the accolade does not have a monetary value, being designated a State Scholar is a prestigious honor for their academic resumes.

Help the United High School Social Media Marketing students launch their special holiday projects now through December 5th. Three student groups have partnered with The Strom Center, Western Illinois Animal Rescue, and The Jamieson Center to help with their respective non-profit initiatives.

Please consider supporting these causes over the next few weeks. You can drop off items or monetary donations at the United High School office or Mrs. Horner’s classroom.

Be sure to follow United Red Storm Media 304 on Facebook and Instagram to watch each group market their nonprofits' needs and share updates throughout the campaign.

Thank you for helping your United students learn the power of community, compassion, and creativity this holiday season.!

This is a follow up to the previous message regarding law enforcement presence at UJSHS this morning. The pre-arranged emergency drill has now concluded at UJSHS. Thank you to all staff and agencies that were involved in making it a success.

Please be aware that if you see law enforcement presence at the Jr.-Sr. High School this morning, it is simply for the purpose of a pre-planned intruder drill taking place. Thank you.

Today, representatives from the Regional Office of Education visited United High School to speak with Mr. Witherell’s sophomore American History students about a variety of career opportunities. The presentation highlighted the education and training required for different career fields and emphasized the importance of developing strong résumés.

Students also had the chance to explore potential career paths firsthand through interactive virtual reality simulations. Using VR headsets, they experienced what it’s like to work in fields such as welding, veterinary science, culinary arts, and more than 50 other professions. The event gave students valuable insight into future career options and the steps needed to pursue them.
