United West Elementary

Hi there!

My name is Makayla Kane, and I’m so excited to be teaching within the special education communications program at United West Elementary this year!

I’m a proud United alum, and it feels so special to be back teaching in the community that helped shape me. This will be my third year teaching, and I recently completed my Master’s degree in Special Education, which has deepened my passion for supporting all learners in meaningful ways.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my soon-to-be husband, John, our four dogs and two cats, and helping run our cattle feedlot outside of Smithshire. On weekends, you’ll find me at the race track supporting John’s Figure 8 racing and spending time with friends.

I’m really looking forward to being back at United, and I can’t wait to get to know all of the students, families, and staff!
