Yesterday was the first meeting of United North's new Geography Club. We had a great turnout! Our third grade members met yesterday morning for the first time and learned a bit about the history of the National Parks Service. They then brainstormed many really great questions that they would like to ask a park ranger. These will be put together and written into a letter and sent off to the National Parks Service "Write a Ranger" program. We look forward to hearing back from the ranger and learning all about what it is like to work for the National Parks system. We also talked a bit about the "Every Kid Outdoors" program which allows fourth grade students and their families free admission to National Parks for the entire year, which hopefully some of our families can take advantage of next summer after students have completed third grade (or our current fourth graders can take advantage of now). Here is the link to that program if anyone is interested in signing up:

The Geography Club will be meeting on the following dates:
Fourth grade 11/9 7:45am-8:10am
Fifth grade: 11/22 7:45am-8:10am
3rd-5th grade: 11/30 7:45am-8:10am
All meetings currently take place in Mrs. Feltmeyer's classroom
