School Picture Day at the Junior High has been scheduled for Friday, February 12th.
Volleyball and Basketball Update:
We are excited to announce that the IESA stated yesterday that girls volleyball and boys basketball are able to resume!
7th and 8th grade Volleyball practice will begin tomorrow, Thursday, January 21st. Practice will be after school from 1:00-2:40. There will be shuttle transportation to the High School and to Alexis after practice. More detailed information will be coming out in the coming days regarding game schedules, but the first game is tentatively scheduled for Feb.1 @ Kewanee Visitation. Please follow the United Junior High Facebook page for follow up information as it becomes available. Information will also be made available at school and through the coaching staff. At this time we have not received guidance on whether or not fans will be able to attend games and contests.
**REMINDER**- an up to date physical or a date for a physical will be required for each player.
7th and 8th grade Boys Basketball has also been given the green light to have practice. However, IDPH rules and the IESA do not currently allow games to be played. Our plan for now is to have 2 practices each week, beginning next week (January 25th). Practices will be on Monday and Friday after school from 1:00-2:40 and will run until the end of February. Basketball practices will be held at West Elementary Gym behind the junior high, and shuttle transportation will be available after practice.
Thank you in advance for your patience as we try to work on modified schedules, transportation, and work through more guidance from the IESA as it becomes available. As you know, this year things can change quickly so we will let you know any new information that we receive.

During the winter months, we have designated three areas where our students can hang their coats. We will make sure to inform our students in case they want to hang their coats during the day. Please call the office if you have any questions. Thank you!
The 7th and 8th Grade incentive movie days have been changed.
The 7th grade movie day will now be Tuesday, Dec. 15th from 12:30-2:45.
The 8th grade movie day will now be Thursday, Dec. 17th from 12:30-2:45.
Please remember this incentive is for students who have no failing grades as of Dec. 10th. All students who attend will be put into a raffle for a chance to win some prizes. If you do not want a school lunch, be sure to pack a lunch. Parents need to pick up their students at 2:45 from the Junior High. There will be a shuttle that runs to the High School and then to Alexis as well.
Just a reminder that there will be NO after school study table tomorrow.
Thanksgiving break will be Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week. School will resume on Monday, November 30th.
