The gas leak at United Junior Senior High School has been resolved. Ameren has given the all clear for students to re-enter. Students are receiving lunch and school day will end at the normally scheduled time. Thank you for your patience.

The safety of our staff and students is very important. We have decided to evacuate the Junior Senior High School due to a suspected gas leak. Students will be outside of the building until Ameren provides an "all clear" to re-enter. We will keep you updated on this situation as we receive more details. We are continuing to navigate the transition from Skyward to Teacherease. As we are doing so, please make note that the meal accounts are not up and running yet. It is still a work in progress. While we are waiting for everything to transfer, we have been keeping track manually of student meals. Once the system is up and running, we will scan meals that students have eaten up until that point. Thank you for being patient and understanding while we work through this transition.
We've had several calls and questions regarding school picture day. It is later than it has normally been in the past. Picture day for United North Elementary is Friday, September 27th. Details are on the school calendar that went home last week. It is the same week as Homecoming Week so we scheduled our dress up days around it.
United North is partnering with the Alexis Fire Department to provide an evening of fun! Come have dinner and watch the movie, Migration, and help us celebrate getting off to a successful start! Dinner is provided by the Alexis Fire Department. Bring your own seating for the movie! Shirt order forms went home last week to help support our collaboration with our first responders. If you need another one sent home, contact the office. Hope to see you there!!
Teachers will be using email and the Teacherease App for communication purposes this year in an effort to eliminate multiple apps. Please note that email is the main form of communication but you can email through the app.
Notifications
In order to receive notifications on the app, you will need to choose the “MORE” button.
Then choose “COMMUNICATION PREFERENCES.”
This will bring up a menu of things for you to choose your notification preferences (messages from staff, school closure, general announcements, missing assignments, etc.)
You will need to choose the arrow on each category to choose which you want notifications for.
Emails
Once this is all set, you can email the teacher and receive emails from the teacher through the app.
Choose “MORE”
Then choose “EMAILS”
Then choose the envelope in the top right corner.
This will bring up all of the teachers your student has in the drop down menu of the “to” section.

We will also be sending text messages and website/social media posts with instructions and links for those who do not receive or miss receiving this information by the end of the day Tuesday the 30th.
