United High School hosted its First Annual “Poetry Out Loud” contest yesterday. Twelve students participated and all did an outstanding job. Students selected a poem, memorized it, and recited the work to 4 judges. They have been practicing with the guidance of English teacher, Mr. Klimkewicz. The top 3 students were: Keira Laws (1st), Rachel Leary (2nd), and Skylar Deakin (3rd). Keira and Rachel will compete in the regional competition at Annawan High School on February 11th. Congratulations and good luck in the next competition!
